Rebooting the server is sometimes buggy.

  • First off, make sure you have the passphrase, and log into the proxmox interface (=the console).
  • ssh into skwotmail, make sure noone else is connected (w), check the open tmux or screen windows, then issue reboot.
  • The console might not reconnect successfully, it might also display a black screen or anything that doesn't help at all. If so, you can "reset" the VM by clicking the down arrow next to the "shutdown" button, and click "Reset".
  • Enter passphrase on the console when asked, or use dropbear
  • After successful reboot, log into the machine and check if zimbra has started properly (every line must show "running"):
    • # su - zimbra
    • zimbra$ zmcontrol status
